Workhorse of the cell (2014)

Description

Ever hear of kinesins?

They’re tiny (really tiny) vehicles that transport molecules from one part of the cell to another (typically from the center of the cell to its periphery).

Using two “feet” they walk on specialized “highways” of the cell called microtubules.

Kinesins are capable of carrying cargo that is many times their own size.

When not needed, kinesins enter an energy-saving mode until they’re needed again.

A must watch! A marvel of design!
